At Rubenesque Lipoedema Clinic, care begins with listening. Every woman’s experience with lipoedema is different, which is why assessment and management are approached with careful attention to each individual’s symptoms, concerns, and goals.

The approach focuses on providing clear information, thoughtful guidance, and practical strategies that support long term management. By combining current knowledge in lymphatic and lipoedema care with a supportive and respectful environment, the practitioners aim to help women feel more confident in understanding and navigating their condition.

Practitioners Consulting at Rubenesque Lipoedema Clinic

Charlotte Wolfenden

Registered Nurse, ALA Practitioner & Founder of Rubenesque Lipoedema Clinic

Charlotte has been a nurse for almost three decades, graduating in New Zealand in 1996. Her career has taken her through Dermatology, Cosmetic Medicine, Cardiology and Phlebology - leg vein nursing — experiences that have helped to shape the work she does at Rubenesque.

As an accredited member of the Australasian Lymphology Association (ALA) and someone living with lipoedema herself, Charlotte understands both the clinical and personal side of this condition.  She gets it!

Rubenesque was born from her desire to remove confusion, create structure, and ensure women feel heard, supported and genuinely understood. Her approach is grounded in listening, education and thoughtful connection to the right medical and allied health professionals.

Her superpower is her ability to network and make connections with other healthcare professionals in the Lipoedema & Medical space. Those connections are just one of the reasons that allows Rubenesque Lipoedema Clinic to stand out. If she doesn’t know the answer, she will know some who does.

Charlotte has a thirst for knowledge and education and is attending the 2026 ALA conference in Cairns in May. She brings 20 plus years of cosmetic medicine clinical knowledge to Rubenesque, providing exceptional knowledge regarding skin health and wound healing.

When not in clinic she is a wife and mum to two adult children, a Bulldog named William and a named Staffy StanLee.

Dr. Lauren Bracey

General Practitioner (FRACGP)

Dr. Lauren Bracey is an experienced and compassionate General Practitioner dedicated to providing holistic and empathetic care to all her patients, with a particular interest in supporting women living with lipoedema.

Lauren completed her medical degree at Griffith University in 2014, following an undergraduate degree in Medical Science. She then spent three years working in the hospital system across a broad range of specialties, including a dedicated 12 months in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, where her passion for Women’s Health deepened. During this time, she completed both her Diploma of Obstetrics & Gynaecology and her Diploma of Child Health. She was awarded a Fellowship in General Practice in 2019.

Lauren has a strong clinical interest in the assessment and ongoing management of lipoedema. Understanding that Lipoedema is often an under-recognised condition that can significantly impact physical health, mobility, and emotional wellbeing, she is committed to improving awareness, ensuring accurate diagnosis, coordinating appropriate investigations, and developing structured care plans that support long-term health outcomes.

Lauren believes in taking the time to understand the whole person, not just the presenting concern. Her approach is collaborative, thorough and patient-centred, ensuring women feel heard, respected and medically supported throughout their care journey.

Outside of work, Lauren is a busy mum to her two young daughters and her much-loved border collie, Marmalade.

Dr Bracey operates her independent medical practice and consults from rooms located at Rubenesque Lipoedema Clinic on Thursday mornings. Appointments with Dr Bracey concerning Lipoedema can be booked through the clinic reception or by completing the online request form.
